Los Albertos are a six piece dance ska and pop band from Brighton,UK. Formed in 2002 they have toured the venues and festivals of the UK, Europe and even Russia with great popular success releasing three studio albums, a live album and an EP along the way. Their sound fuses ska, drum n bass and old skool techno with a funky, punky pop sensibility. The line up of drums, bass and guitar with a three piece brass section allows the band to explore and mix all these styles while retaining their own sound, charactarized by four part harmonies and sax, trumpet and guitar solos. This combination produces an enormously dynamic, lyrically colourful and irresistibly dancey sound. The band possesses a wealth of song writing talent drawn from all band members which has resulted in experiments in less pop oriented styles such as Klezmer, dub and hip hop.

Los Albertos begin their gigs instantly running, leading the audience with fast paced dance sounds and taking them to a break-neck and frenzied climax leaving you dazed, exhausted and happy!

Not to be missed.

As mentioned the band has produced three studio albums, a few EPs and a live album and have toured extensively often performing 150 gigs a year in the ten years they spent on the road. They have played at numerous festivals (some 50 a year) including Glastonbury Festival many times. Some professional producers such as Al Scott who also worked with English rock band, The Levellers have worked with the band. In January 2009, Nic Tribe, the band's bassist decided to leave the band to pursue his own direction. The band later replaced Nic with Jim Gallagher briefly, before full-time member Adam Futcher joined up. Nowadays after calling it a day in 2012 they are doing a few gigs per year and in 2024 are writing again. The band have built a loyal, underground following all over the place and love nothing more than putting a smile on everyones faces at their live gigs. Although the band have faced many problems through the years, they really are inseperable and have become a family. They may not have the support of management, record label like they used to but have decided they love it too much to stop totally. Gigs and recordings are still on the cards, just at a much slower pace.
